My name is Nikki! I'm the founder and CEO of PUCKer Up Sports. What started as a girl with a dream has expanded into something truly magical and I am proud of the family that we've created! When I'm not writing or talking about hockey (which isn't often), I'm probably traveling for a concert or a music festival. I love a new adventure and exploring other countries. PUCKer Up is my baby and I can't wait to continue providing great coverage throughout the NHL.
Hey everyone! I'm Alyssa and I recently just moved to downtown Toronto to attend Ryerson University. Here, in the heart of the city, I am majoring in RTA Sport Media and minoring in marketing! I grew up surrounded by the game of hockey. Whether it be season tickets to the Hershey Bears , watching my brother play juniors, and even lacing up the shares for myself, I've always been passionate about the sport. My home team is the Washington Capitals, but I fell in love with the Toronto Maple Leafs from the very beginning. For me, PUCKer Up is about two things: to share out love and knowledge of the game, and empowering the women we work alongside with. I am so excited to be apart of this amazing organization and I can't wait to see where it takes us!
Hi!! I'm Alicia and I'm a journalist for the Toronto chapter of PUCKer Up. I'm a 1st year university student at the University of Toronto studying kinesiology. I'm stoked to be living downtown next year, and get to see all of the amazing things the city has to offer, and get to watch some Leafs and Marlies. I hope that all the chapters of PUCKer Up continue to grow and flourish this season.
Hi guys! I’m Sara and I write for PUCKer Up Toronto. I’m currently a freshman at the University of Buffalo, where I am on an athletic scholarship to play Division 1 softball! I spent my childhood growing up around sports, whether it was spending my weekends at the field or spending my Friday nights curled up on my couch watching whatever I could find on ESPN. Yet, with all the sports surrounding me one seemed to capture my attention the most. I’ve been a Caps fan for as long as I can remember, but as my love for the Caps grew, my love for hockey grew even more. I now find myself majoring in communications, and having the chance to not only write for PUCKer Up, but for my school’s newspaper as well! I’m hoping that with all this experience, I will be able to make a name for myself in the sports journalism world.
Hello! I'm Sam and I am a journalist for PUCKer Up Toronto! I'm a graduate of Quinnipiac University where I majored in journalism and minored in sports studies. I am currently a production assistant at Bleacher Report in New York City, where I help create social content and curate our Snapchat story. I have always loved sports (particularly hockey) and writing/creating which led me on this path to journalism. I grew up in the city, but fell in love with those Leafy boys in the Great White North, so I'm very excited to have the opportunity to cover them and be a part of this amazing fam at PUCKer Up!
Hey everyone! I'm Claire, one of the journalists in the Toronto chapter! I'm passionate about what I do and about women in sports! I know how important it is for girls to see girls putting in the work in the industry and how it validates that girls belong in sports! I've been a Leafs fan since I was seven and I haven't shut up about the team since! Right now, I'm completing my Masters in media, journalism, and communications at Western University, and I can't wait for you to read my hot takes and help grow PUCKer Up!
